Planting
We offer the service of producing planting schemes within your garden to suit your personal requirements. We like to engage in an initial discussion to ascertain what you would like to achieve, then produce a definitive planting list and again discuss our ideas with you.
We are currently undertaking a 2 year project in a small garden with the idea of producing a sustainable, wildlife friendly garden which requires minimal maintenance. The brief was to offer all year round colour and interest, whilst still growing and maturing in a changing climatic environment.
Stage 1
We incorporated a thick layer of well rotted stable manure to all the beds before planting and this was left for a number of weeks to 'rot down'. This process helped to add nutrients to the soil prior to planting and acted as a barrier for emerging weeds as well as retaining moisture in the ground.
Stage 2
We sourced a selection of plants, from local suppliers, to give all year round colour and interest. These included mature shrubs for structure, and perennials for ground cover and additional height.
